Music Inspired Art Tutorial

This is a tutorial about a music inspired art. This art was originally a gift to a friend that is a musician. I had this art personalized just for her. First step is to use the shape tool and utilize the rectangular tool. I wanted to have a depth effect on the shape. I used inner glow and gradient overlay for it.

To add more style on the shape, I added few images that I got from the internet. I set the opacity to 30 percent just to emphasize the shape still.

 Use rectangular tool to make a long narrow line just like below. This shape will serve as the string on our guitar. As you noticed, I added a pattern to make a spiral like marking on the shape. I did the same process six times with different widths.

Guitars do have these vertical lines that's why I put some too. I just used a gradient overlay to give an emboss effect. 

After doing the previous step three times, I added two dots as you can see below.

This is the most important part of this art. Where I wanted to write her name with a musical flavor on it. Luckily there were plenty of musical icons that could support my plan. I used g clef to represent letter "s". I then put a gradient of light and dark blue on it.

 The rest are of the same process with the "s". Sharp icon for "h", whole note for "o", flat for "b", and lastly f clef for "e". And this is a personalized musical art.

Valentine's Day Inspired Stick Man Art Tutorial

It is just timely for me to post this art since it's February. We'll start with a circle with a black stroke and this will serve as the head of our stick man. This is done using the shape tool or "u", just select the ellipse tool.

Next, let us draw the body. In this case, we can use line tool that is still in the "u" tool or this can be done with a pen tool.

After the body, the legs.

Then the arms and that will complete our stick man. Let's make him happy by making a stick woman beside him by doing the same steps as stated earlier.

The skirt must be emphasized to differentiate the two genders. 

And so as the hair.

And this is the final output from the tutorial.

But wait, there's more. I thought of having this art into a more sophisticated one. Let us make a story.

Step-by-step tutorial on Valentine's Day Facebook Cover

Today is the 1st of February that means the day most people celebrate passionately in the month of February, the Valentine's day is just around the corner. I will be making a facebook cover photo dedicated to this celebration. To start with, we need the dimension of the image and just follow what i put in the screenshot below.

Love is just a very vague matter that embraces almost all things. But we just need a certain figure or icon that will best describe it-heart. Using the rectangular tool or "u", we will make a square, just choose the shape option of the tool and select rectangular. Hold shift key while dragging the shape to ensure a perfect square. Color it with red. We will be making many of these squares as part of the heart we are making. Just press control + "j" to copy the layer and select another shade of red for it to make a pixelized effect. 

 I drew a pattern at the background for easy stacking of layers.

 Almost there!

We'll just follow the heart pattern until we can make the heart full of pixels. This is now the main entry in our cover photo.

To finalize the photo, we will put message or text that will compliment with the heart. I wrote "My heart is not big. Not big enough to let anyone in except you!". You may write any tagline you want or any message for anyone.

Company Logo Tutorials using Photoshop

This is a tutorial about making a company logo or any logo that would give you a corporate look. First, open photoshop and create a new image with your dimensions. Using the test tool or just pressing "t" in your keyboard, you will be able to type in the name of the logo. In this case, it is "biasing" since the logo is intended for an electronic and communications engineering site. I think it is prerequisite in making a logo to know a lot about the topic it is to be representing. 

After typing, we can now change its color to orange since the owner wanted to color it that way. This can be done by clicking the colored rectangle near the alignments on the top.

 To add up some flavor to the word "biasing", we will now incorporate the engineering matters to the logo. First thing that came to my mind is a circuit, a simple electronic circuit. but I can't just put a circuit in the logo. So I decided to pick the grounding and source icon. First with grounding, I decided to put it in the letter g since it is in the end part of the word. Using the rectangular tool or "u" as a shortcut, I was able to make a rectangle with the same width as the letter. I colored it orange then.

Grounding goes this way, it has three horizontal line with different lengths all centered in a vertical one. What I did here is to copy the first rectangular shape using "a" and pasting it on the same layer. I was able to change its orientation and size via free transform option that will be available once you right click the layer.

 Now we will go to the source. its just similar to grounding but it is placed on the top and it only has one horizontal bar. I just copied the shape from the previous step.

 We will now erase the remaining letter g so it will blend with the grounding icon. just press "e".

Let's add some caption below and colored it blue to complement the orange color.

 It is all about electronics and communications engineering and it is done.

 Additional to the logo is an icon that will best describe the logo itself only minimalist in nature. I picked the letter g with the grounding as the icon. In order to make this, just merge the image and erase all except the letter g and the grounding.

That's it. a simple yet corporate style of making logo. Try to make one too.
